Montgomery - Deputy Director - Standards and Training
for Corrections Division
Shelley
Montgomery is a Deputy Director for the Board of
Corrections, responsible for the Standards and Training
for Corrections (STC) Division. She has been with
the Board for over 20 years, most recently as the
Standards Manager in charge of selection and core
training standards. This assignment afforded her
an opportunity to work closely with many local agency
representatives in the revision of core training
curricula as well as the development of new entry-level
selection tests. A native of the east coast, Shelley
first worked for the Virginia Department of Corrections
in a counseling capacity. Upon her move to California,
Shelley served as a probation officer and supervisor
for the Napa County Probation Department. While
employed with Napa County, she earned her Master's
Degree in Psychology, specializing in program evaluation.
Shelley is committed to STC's mission: the increased
competency of local corrections through selection
and training standards.
