The Corrections Standards Authority in partnership
with the California
Institute for Mental Health present:
"Suicide Prevention and Crisis Intervention
in Jails, Train the Trainer Course" STC
# 0617-018707.
This Training for Trainers course provides the
tools to develop a comprehensive suicide prevention
program. Each agency attending the training will
receive a trainers "Tool Kit" including
PowerPoint presentations on active listening and
suicide prevention, The New York Officer's Suicide
Prevention handbook and a DVD with 7 scenarios,
which provide the basis for an in-depth examination
of characteristics of inmates at risk and what
can be done to prevent jail suicides. The materials
are adaptable to meet the varying agency needs.
The trainee will learn procedures and requirements
for developing classes of varying length for STC
certification by each agency.
Enrollment is limited
to two trainers per agency.
